Tackle Your Feelings
We are pleased to announce that in conjunction with the Hawthorn Football Club and Scoresby Football Netball Club, the Rowville Knights will be holding a ‘Tackle Your Feelings’ event in the social rooms at Scoresby on Monday 30 May from 7pm to 8:30pm.
Tackle Your Feelings is a free mental health training program for community AFL coaches, as well as committee members and other club support staff. The program was formed by the AFL Coaches Association, AFL Players’ Association and Zurich Insurance in 2018, after the tragic death of Adelaide coach Phil Walsh three years earlier.
The workshop is delivered by a local psychologist and aims to help participants gain the tools to Understand, Recognise and Respond to signs of mental ill-health in their players. In our case the Hawthorn Football Club has arranged for a psychologist and their community outreach team to facilitate our session.
Tackle Your Feelings is based on the education delivered to the AFL industry, and is led by high profile player and coach ambassadors. We all know how important mental health is, this is a rare opportunity for us all to upskill in supporting our kids.
To attend please register via this Registration Link.
Please also share with your assistant coaches and team helpers. We will open to the rest of the club community later in the week but want all coaches and support teams to have first access to places.
