Victoria Day Awards
Scoresby Football And Netball Club were thrilled to nominate Mr. Doug “Fitzy” Fitzgerald for a 2018 Victoria day award.
Doug, more affectionately known to all at the Scoresby Football and Netball club as “Fitzy” has a very long connection with the club. Fitzy has been actively involved with the club for 40 plus consecutive years. Fitzy has always been hands on during this period and continues this today.
Fitzy has held many roles within the club over his time including many years on general committee’s at the club, as a Junior Coach of the 15’s & 16’s, both of which had the ultimate success under his guidance. Fitzy, as a tradesman turned his hand to assisting the club when the club rooms where extended and renovated a number of years ago and many hours of work went into ensuring his beloved football club was presented in the best light possible.
To this very day, Fitzy’s love for the club and his dedication has not wavered and for many years Fitzy has looked after the game day balls for the club. This includes collecting the game day balls from the league, accounting for each ball and ensuring they are in perfect condition each week. This is a huge cost saving to the club and Fitzy’s efforts do not go unnoticed.
Fitzy is a valued volunteer of our club and the Scoresby Football and Netball Club is a better place as a result of Fitzy’s long association with our great club.
We all congratulate you on this very well deserved award.
Also congratulations to Jayden Adolph on his Victoria Day Award for his contribution to Magpie Scoresby Juniors.
